The Yevul community needs you! Donate to the Gaza envelope and receive back
Donors: 30
Hello, we are the Yevul community. You probably haven't heard about us in the last two months, even though our Moshav is located in the south of the Gaza envelope - 4.8 km from the Gaza Strip and 1.5 km from the Egyptian border.
They say we were lucky, which is probably true. But unfortunately not everything is rosy, and we need you.
Our story on the Black Sabbath:
We were very lucky on the Black Sabbath.
A force of dozens of terrorists who were on their way to us were stopped and restrained by the IDF a few hundred meters from the Moshav fence.
We experienced two very difficult days, without electricity, without internet, heavy fighting was taking place all around us, the noise was unbearable, the houses shook, the noise of shooting of all kinds, Kasam rockets that landed everywhere, combat helicopters fired for hours over our houses in the direction of the Gaza Strip, and above all a sense of uncertainty where the fear for our lives hovered above us. We were alone in a terrible hell.
The neighborhood combat unit of the moshav carried only 4 weapons, with which we guarded the entire moshav.
Many residents guarded outside their homes with knives, clubs and whatever else was nearby, to protect their families.
We all lost friends and acquaintances on the Black Shabbat, relatives who lived in the surrounding settlements, classmates of our children, beloved teachers.
We were locked in our safe room for about 30 hours until we rescued ourselves on Sunday at noon in a convoy that none of us will probably ever forget.
The stable ground on which we lived, dropped from under our feet. Our children's childhood ended on that black Sabbath, and they will never be the same again, we all changed on 7/10.
Our extreme fortune, and the fact that the terrorists were not able to enter the Moshav, meant that we fell through the cracks in almost every area since we left the Gaza envelope and moved to live the life of refugees, and the large (and justified) aid that other settlements received, did not reach us.
We were a loving, close-knit and strong community, we lived in our own little slice of heaven. We celebrated all the holidays together, we spent days and nights together as a community.
These days, some of us are staying in a hostel in Masada, the rest are scattered throughout the country, and we don't know when we will return home and what our house, the regional council and our beloved environment will look like when we return. We do know that a challenging period awaits us in which we will be required to rehabilitate the moshav, the community and above all adapt the moshav to the new reality.
We are preparing to provide ourselves with community support, to add safety measures to the community structures with an emphasis on buildings that serve the children of the moshav, and to prepare the moshav for the day after.
We were physically saved, but our souls are shattered and our personal and community resilience is severely damaged.
We believe that we will be able, when the day comes, to rehabilitate the moshav and the community, heal the brokenness and take care of ourselves
And we want you to be there with us when it happens!
The immediate needs that will allow us to plan for our return are many and varied, we have summarized some of them here
Protection of the children's buildings - namely the children's club and the youth club, so that we will be able to have educational frameworks for preschoolers and the lower grades inside the moshav.
Protecting and renovating the community club - the beating heart of our community - which since 7/10 hosted many soldiers who stayed there and it needs a lot of work
The establishment of educational frameworks and supporting aid frameworks with the aim of helping our children return to normality and routine
Assistance to families who were financially affected by the war
Rehabilitation of our children and our community resilience
We have thought a lot about how we can give ourselves hope, while giving you true value for your help and support.
We know that a large part of you have already contributed and helped a lot since the beginning of the war, both to the settlements, to the reserve forces and to the families of the hostages
We need you too, and we want to give back!
Donation of NIS 100-200
In return, we will send you by mail a piece of work made by the children of the moshav in the safe studio we set up in our hostel in Masada, a souvenir that will stay with you from this period
Donation of NIS 400
In return, we will display your name on a dedicated wall in the club, and invite you to celebrate with us on the day of the club's launch, so that you can get to know us, our Moshav and our community life.
Donation of NIS 600 per family
Celebrating Shavuot with us!
Moshav Yevul invites you to celebrate the traditional Shavuot holiday with us - including performances, a tractor tour, a ceremony of "Bikurim" (the first fruit of the crop) where you can take an active part, an agricultural tour of our farms and of course a delicious and pampering meal in the best of tradition. There is no more symbolic victory than celebrating Shavuot in a Moshav on the Gaza envelope!
The holiday is planned to take place in the weeks of 2025, by then we hope and believe that the moshav will be prepared and ready to give back to you, our donors.
