"Thyroid Thrive Israel" is a new non-profit social initiative, committed to assisting women struggling with Hashimoto thyroiditis and similar thyroid diseases. The thyroid gland is a butterfly-shaped endocrine organ located in the neck, responsible for producing hormones in every cell of the body that regulate metabolism, growth, and various bodily functions. • People facing untreated thyroid issues frequently endure challenging symptoms like fatigue, muscle and joint pain, depression, mood disorders, and fertility issues, severely impacting their well-being and leaving them with a sense of isolation and helplessness due to inadequate support and care. • Thyroid disorders impact 1-15% of the global population, with Hashimoto's thyroiditis standing out as the predominant form, primarily affecting women in their reproductive years. In Israel, it is estimated that more than 900,000 women suffer from thyroid diseases, and an extra 1,000 new cases are diagnosed annually. • While the conventional Western approach to thyroid care relies on synthetic hormone medications, certain patients may still experience symptoms or encounter side effects from the treatment. We advocate for a holistic approach, emphasizing proper nutrition, physical activity, and a healthy lifestyle to achieve overall well-being and empower individuals to proactively improve their health. Founded to meet these needs, the initiative presents a comprehensive approach focusing on access to reliable information, emotional support and empowerment, and improved medical services.
