As you know, our Shalhevet community recently suffered a heartbreaking loss with the passing of our dear member and Steinsaltz Yeshiva alumnus, Refael Kauders, in a tragic Hezbollah drone attack. In light of this terrible loss, we are searching for ways to honor Refael's legacy and his dedication to education and to cultivating the vital bond between Israel and world Jewry. In memory of Refael, we intend on launching a special fundraising initiative to significantly increase the number of Chavrutas in Shalhevet. Refael believed in the transformative power of Chavruta (one on one) Torah study and its ability to foster deep learning, personal growth, and strong community bonds. By expanding our Chavruta program, we aim to continue his vision and impact even more lives through dedicated and meaningful study. Our goal with this initiative is not just to honor Refael, but to create a lasting tribute that reflects his values and passion.
