On the morning of October 7th, as the attack began, Amit Mann, a 22-year-old paramedic whose dream was to be a doctor, was awakened by the sirens. She rushed to the clinic in Kibbutz Be'eri to treat the injured who had gathered there. Amit refused to leave the kibbutz, saying, 'I need to stay because it's dangerous.' Amit was murdered while shielding the wounded, comforting them and treating them with devotion. Amit remained until the very last moment, determined to help others - she was not thinking about her own safety. Her only concern was how to ease the pain of her patients.
The war brought not only great loss but also a deep sense of insecurity and fear. The trauma inflicted on us is an integral part of our daily reality, it affects every aspect of our lives. Entire communities, from south to north, evacuated from their homes, are still searching the ways to return to a safe, calm, and peaceful routine, to strengthen and rebuild.
We are opening a gate to recovery for them.
----------
The Yuri Shtern Holistic Center is a unique project that has existed for over seventeen years, providing holistic treatments (touch therapy, Chinese medicine, and emotional therapies) to cancer patients and their families at Shaare Zedek Medical Center and in community clinics in Jerusalem and Herzliya.
Nearly 200 qualified volunteer therapists come to the medical center and clinics on a weekly basis, providing the cancer community with relaxing treatments that alleviate the pain and suffering they experience.
With the outbreak of the october 7th war, the center established a volunteer therapist task force that provided nearly 2,500 holistic treatments to displaced persons, wounded, soldiers, and various war victims.
The experience gained over 17 years in treating cancer patients has significantly helped shape the nature of the treatments provided to populations suffering from trauma. The understanding that holistic treatment provides a significant component for healing the mind and body and that these treatments must be made accessible, both physically and cognitively, to communities suffering from trauma, led us to establish the Holsitic Mobile in Memory of Amit Mann project.
The Holistic Mobile will is operating in various locations throughout the country (in areas where war victims - displaced residance, soldiers, wounded people, families, and others - are concentrated) and is providing voluntary holistic touch therapies to affected populations. Our experience, as well as numerous studies, prove that these treatments have the ability to immediately alleviate the physical and psychological symptoms of ongoing trauma.
We believe that every person in need should be treated and helped, and therefore it was only natural for us to choose Amit Mann as the symbol of this project for war victims. The way Amit acted throughout her life, and especially in the events of October 7th, and the values of dedication to a goal and devotion to treatment and patients, are shared by us as well.
The holistic mobile in Memory of Amit Mann began its operations about a year ago and has since treated over 1,500 people in dozens of communities across the country, with a special focus on the Gaza envelope region. Starting in July 2025, the Holistic Mobile's volunteer therapists have also been treating victims of the Iranian missile attack.
As we enter our second year of treatments with the Holistic Mobile, we would like to expand our operations, increase the number of treatment days (due to high demand), train more therapists to treat victims of national trauma, create a continuous treatment program for the clinic's services, and reach more communities and individuals who need a healing touch. For this purpose, we need your support!
Join us and together we can give from our soul and heart in the way of Amit Mann ❣️
