In memory of the IDF fallen soldiers - Mashiv HaRuach Synagogue
Donors: 182
The "Kise Matzliach" association has set itself the goal of establishing the "Meshiv HaRuach" (Restorer of the Spirit) synagogue in the Shchuna Yud-Alef neighborhood of Be'er Sheva, in memory of the IDF soldiers who fell in the Iron Swords War. The name of the synagogue, which bears the prayer we began reciting when the war broke out, symbolizes our aspiration to restore to the people of Israel the unifying and strengthening spirit that has always characterized the Jewish people.
For the past decade, the population of Be'er Sheva has remained relatively stable rather than growing, and among the city's more established residents there is even a trend of negative migration. We believe that a rich communal and spiritual life is a powerful lever for reversing this trend. Our vision is to create, with your help, a unifying and inclusive spiritual center that will strengthen the love of Torah, the people, and the Land of Israel among the wider public. We aspire for this special synagogue, to be built with God's help in Be'er Sheva, to strengthen the makeup of the population both in the neighborhood and in Be'er Sheva as a whole. It will serve as a focal point and a nucleus for a thriving community — as is already evident among the young people of the neighborhood and the surrounding areas, who are drawn to the prayer services held in the temporary location at the home of the association's directors.
The synagogue will operate in a manner suited to every Jew, of all communities, ages, and backgrounds, in a unified and shared style, out of the belief that we are all equal before God and that the gates of the house of prayer should be open to all. At "Meshiv HaRuach," prayers will be held in a unique style that blends Jerusalemite, Sephardic, and Ashkenazi traditions, and the voice of Torah will be heard through lessons and lectures by leading rabbis from within the community, as well as outreach rabbis from across the country.
