Supporting The Equalizer - Sport for education, equality and social cohesion for Israel’s society

My name is Felix McFarland, and I celebrated my Bar Mitzvah on August 31, 2024. I made this Jgive page to do a fundraiser for The Equalizer. The Equalizer is a non-profit organization from Israel that promotes the power of sports as a tool to help underprivileged kids receive a quality education and equal opportunities in hopes of unifying the children of Israel. It is important to give to this organization because they have created programs that are taking urgent action to help kids who are suffering from the war. These programs are important for the kids because it gets their minds off the scary times they are experiencing. My fundraiser will help The Equalizer program called, The Equalizer: Education on Top who gives underprivileged kids from Israel an opportunity to be on a soccer team while at the same time have academic tutoring and receive classes on leadership and character development. It also promotes peace by uniting Jewish and Arab kids to play on the same team. The Equalizer: Education on Top program is also the model for the Evacuated Children program, which is helping kids who have been evacuated from their homes because of the war. For my project, I set up a Jgive page online so people can donate to The Equalizer: Education on Top. I chose to do my fundraiser for this program because it involves my favorite sport, soccer and somethings that are really important, education and building peace. My goal is to raise $9,000 which is the amount needed to fund a whole soccer team for one full year. I hope you help me reach my goal of helping these kids.
