The Equalizer

The Equalizer is a nonprofit organization with the goal to make a national impact on Israel’s social challenges by using the power of sport as a tool for for promoting equal opportunities, education and bridging between different communities in Israel’s society. Our mission is that every boy & girl in Israel will have the opportunity to participate in an empowering framework regardless their gender, religious, culture, financial status, etc. Starting from one team in 2009, we have been growing every year. In 2023/4 we operate over 450 teams, impacting over 8,000 boys and girls, in 126 local municipalities, with a focus on marginalized communities. We are proud of the human diversity found in our teams: gender, religion and cultural background. Since October 7th, we have been working in emergency mode, providing educational and emotional-supportive framework to thousands of deeply traumatized Israeli youthincluding hundreds of children from the communities who were evacuated from their home due the war. By using the effective power of sport, The Equalizer is taking a key role in developing Israel’s next generation of proud citizens, strengthening Israel’s social cohesion and our social resilience during these days and in the next years to come.
