Empowering at-risk youth through photography, honoring the legacy of Lavi Lipshitz

The late Lavi Lipshitz, a talented photographer and a fighter in the Givati Brigade, fell in the war in Gaza. Lavi was known for his deep sensitivity to the vulnerable in society and his passion to see even the less fortunate develop through the art of photography. His mission and vision were to empower those less privileged and give them the means to express their voices through the language of photography. In honor of his work, his legacy will continue through the initiatives he started: providing professional cameras to children and youth who dream of photography but whose families cannot afford it. Additionally, the funds raised will be dedicated to a variety of other initiatives in line with his vision—whether through purchasing photography equipment or supporting educational, social, or artistic projects that will provide the next generation with tools for self-expression and social change through the language of photography. Lavi's family is seeking to raise $20,000, which will be dedicated to providing cameras and photography guidance to at-risk children and those from underprivileged families, as well as to support additional initiatives aimed at giving these children tools for self-expression, empowerment, and the opportunity to share their voices—continuing Lavi's vision.
