Tech-Career Donations Through Judah and Leah Taub

Tech-Career was founded by and for Ethiopian Israelis in 2002, with the mission of training capable and motivated young people in the knowledge and skills necessary to advance professional careers in Israel's tech industries and to promote full economic integration and social mobility of Ethiopian Israelis in society. While it is one of the most in-demand and rewarding fields in the Israeli job market, high-tech remains out of bounds for most Ethiopian Israelis, a disadvantaged and underemployed population group - as their socioeconomic status prevents them from attending the right training programs and establishing themselves in the field. Tech-Career's primary target audience is young Ethiopian Israeli women and men aged 21-35 from all over Israel (about 35% of Ethiopian Israelis are in this age group) who have earned their high school matriculation, have completed their military or national service, and seek to enter the job market. Tech-Career serves Ethiopian Israeli young adults who grew up with parents who struggled to support them in households with incomes below the median in Israel. Disadvantaged and underemployed, nearly half of the community lives on or below the poverty line, with household incomes about 20% lower than the Israeli average. If it were not for the game-changing opportunity offered by Tech-Career, many Ethiopian Israeli young adults would likely take on jobs in low-wage, low-skill fields to meet their immediate needs.
