The Friends Retreat of
The Friends Retreat of... A three-day time of respite and processing in a pleasant and relaxing space, for groups of bereaved friends who lost a mutual friend on October 7th
and in the "Iron Swords" war.
The goal of the retreat is to allow the group of friends to share and process the loss with creative tools, to become stronger and receive strength from a group of peers.
The retreat combines group workshop time on topics such as encountering death, ways of coping, growing from the fracture, and more,
and free, refreshing, and consolidating time for the group.
The retreat provides diverse tools for personal and group expression and processing of coping with grief and loss through body and movement, music, creativity, cooking, and more.
The Shahar Association developed a unique project to provide a response to a group of young people who lost a friend as a result of the war, and for this purpose, a collaboration was established with the “Hashabet” project – a social initiative that was established in response to the ripples of the rift left by the war, and aims to create experiential processing and healing processes for groups and communities through the arts, creative therapy and nature.
Together, the Shahar Association and the HaShabet work to strengthen the personal and collective resilience of young people, and to build a safer and healthier future for Israeli society as a whole.
