Shahar Association was established in 2010 out of recognition and belief in the ability of the younger generation to change and influence the future of Israeli society at the critical juncture of the intense military service ahead of them. We believe that adaptation and experience of personal success will affect the continuation of choices and values later in life.
The association runs 9 pre-military training schools across the country: from Kibbutz Alrom in the north of the Golan Heights, through Mevo Dotan in the north of Samaria and Mikva Israel in Holon, to the settlement of Nitzan in the south. As part of the preparatory courses, the association trains and prepares approximately 450 apprentices and apprentices for significant service every year, helps guide them to the most suitable position for them and accompanies them throughout the journey. At the end of the service period, the association accompanies about 1,800 graduates and offers them a unique graduate program that combines emotional and value processing of the military service, and preparation and connection for the continuation of the path and the possibilities for a mature and independent life in the State of Israel.
The 7/10 created a complexity that the State of Israel had not known before and brought with it a complex dealing with difficult and significant events for all the citizens of the State of Israel, and in particular for the soldiers of the IDF. In light of this complexity that befell our country, the association decided to expand its work also to the period close to the release from the army and beyond the graduates of its preparatory schools, And to take part in an important national mission and to help the fighting teams that took part in the Southern Front in the Iron Swords War to close a circle with their military service, to be freed from the military framework not only in body, but also in mind and to prevent dealing with post-trauma that may erupt further down the road.
The Shahar Association has set itself the goal of strengthening the resilience of the liberated fighters so that they can integrate into Israeli society and contribute to the State of Israel.
