Their journey, our memory

A journey that can shape a generation  Shacharit high school in Jerusalem is a unique religious high school for boys and girls in Jerusalem, which combines traditional Beit Midrash learning methodologies with innovative pedagogical practices in the spirit of the High Tech High network. As a growing school, founded in 2020, we are sending our 11th and 12th graders for the first time on an important, impactful journey, following the history of the Jewish people in Poland. This is not a regular school trip - it will be a life-changing, identity-forming educational experience, turning the pages of history into a living, breathing, painful reality. Our students will trace the path of the Jewish world in Poland throughout hundreds of years of Jewish presence there before the Holocaust, will walk in the places where the horrors took place, will hear the stories, see the sights, and will carry with them into the future the memorial torch. Why is this journey critical, especially now? The number of Holocaust survivors is becoming smaller and smaller with each day. The responsibility of keeping their story alive rests on the shoulders of the younger generation. This journey will turn our students into "Third Generation Witnesses". They'll return different - more mature, more connected to their roots, with an in-depth understanding of the what the existence of the State of Israel means. They'll become our ambassadors, those who will continue to tell the story so that the world will never forget. The cost shouldn't be a barrier to memory Unfortunately, the high cost of the journey to Poland--including flights, overnight stay, security and programmatic expenses--makes it unfeasible for many families in our community. We wholeheartedly believe that no student should give up on this meaningful experience because of financial difficulties. Memory is not a privilege.  This is where you come in: our goal is to raise ILS 50,000 for a scholarship fund for the journey to Poland We opened this campaign to raise ILS 50,00 that would be used in full to create a dedicated scholarship fund for the journey, which will provide significant assistance to students who would otherwise be unable to afford the journey, making sure that this opportunity is available to them as well. Join us and become partners in this journey. Every contribution can help pave the way for a young boy or girl to go on a journey that will change their lives and ensure that the memory keeps on living. Your contribution has value beyond the monetary - it's an expression of faith and trust in the future generation, an investment in education and a promise that we will keep remembering, and taking action. Together, we'll ensure that their journey will become a living memory for all of us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shacharit high school is one of the unique educational creations of the Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem (SAE, A.R. 580028116), an educational organization that has been working for over six decades to promote academic and ethical excellence as a leverage for narrowing gaps in Israeli society.
