The Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem

The Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem (SAE) is an educational non-profit organization that works to promote academic and social excellence among Israeli youth. Founded in 1962, the SAE currently operates 18 schools and residences, and a wide variety of educational programs, enabling students to realize their full educational potential, develop social values, and close educational and societal gaps. The SAE responds to the educational needs of all sectors within Israeli society, regardless of socio-economic status, with schools and programs serving Jewish secular, modern orthodox, and Haredi, as well as Arab, populations from throughout the country. All of the SAE’s schools emphasize academic excellence and social responsibility, and its educational residences enable youth from the periphery to attend high-quality schools in the center of the country. Several of the SAE’s schools are unique within the Israeli educational landscape, including schools that educate ultra-orthodox youth towards higher education and increased professional options, Israel’s only secular girls’ leadership school, and the country’s only Arab youth village. For over half a century, the SAE has touched the lives of tens of thousands of Israelis by promoting social mobility through uncompromising educational achievement.
