Fundraising Campaign – Fulfilling Aspirations 5786 The Nigun HaLev community is reaching out to its members, friends, and supporters in Israel and around the world to once again offer financial support for our ongoing work, advancing a liberal, egalitarian, free, vibrant, and joyful Judaism. For 25 years, Nigun HaLev has been creating a deeply rooted, Israeli-Zionist cultural response for Jews and Israelis in the Jezreel Valley and across Israel, while also strengthening friendship, goodwill, and fraternity with our Muslim and Christian neighbours, and with Jewish communities in Israel and abroad. In the past two years, we have worked tirelessly to spark hope for change, light, and creativity amid crisis and pain. We hosted evacuees from the north who were staying in the Jezreel Valley, held Kabbalat Shabbat services in hotels hosting displaced families, and supported families of reservists. Our weekly Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings, this year’s Beit Midrash program dedicated to study and healing, our holiday events and meetings with families of hostages and leading thinkers, the Hebrew Culture Night drawing hundreds from the Valley and surrounding areas, the moving memorial evening for October 7 that included powerful firsthand testimonies, and our learning, singing, and storytelling events and uplifting High Holidays, all are open to the public and serve as a space for rest, support, mutual responsibility, spiritual connection, and a breath of air for both body and soul. How your support will help: • Accompany families and individuals, young and old, in the Jezreel Valley and nearby communities through moments of joy and loss, and during personal and collective challenges. • Promote shared life between Jews and Arabs in the Valley while upholding and strengthening the democratic and liberal values of Israeli society. • Support families of active-duty soldiers, reservists, and security forces, with love, understanding, and sensitivity to their personal and communal needs. • Educate children and youth in the Valley toward an egalitarian and joyful Israeli Judaism through song, music, and engagement with Jewish history and heritage. • Host evenings of learning and enrichment with local and internal community voices, strengthening our Jewish-Israeli-Zionist identity while remaining open to global culture. • Carry out tikkun olam activities - acts of giving and social activism, believing that giving outward strengthens us as individuals and as a community. To continue doing all this, we need your partnership - join us in our journey! Every donation, large or small, enables us to expand our work for good throughout the Valley and within Israeli society. Your donations are tax-deductible in Israel, the USA, Canada, and the UK. * About the Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings, Reut Hamer, one of the community’s founders - writes: Nigun HaLev is an island of uplifted spirit, calm, and sanity; of love, openness, and acceptance. Especially in the past two years - times of hardship, tension, anxiety, loss, and uncertainty, the Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings have offered a comforting and inspiring meeting place. Our Kabbalat Shabbat is a space where heart and soul find comfort and peace, meaning, connection, and belonging. The blend of ancient and modern sources, melodies, songs, and prayers; the link between current realities and our people’s heritage and history - all come together as Israeli Judaism at its best, and as a true expression of love for humanity in action.
