Mishkan Zion

Dear Friends, This is a historic moment. For years, Kehilat Zion has been an Ohel Moed — a tent of meeting and spirit without a permanent home. Today, we are excited to announce that we have finally found our Mishkan, a lasting resting place after years of wandering. Just last week, we signed a lease with the Baka Community Administration for a spacious hall tailored to our community’s needs, securing our sanctuary for the next 18 years. We now have 18 years of certainty. 18 years to raise the next generation, to pray, to sing, and to carry out acts of chessed and goodness. But the contract is only the beginning. Thanks to the generous support of our dear friends, William and Susan Yarmuth, we are currently undertaking a comprehensive renovation to transform this space into a true spiritual home, which will include: ✨ A Prayer Sanctuary in honour of William and Susan Yarmuth and in memory of our beloved teacher and founder president of Zion, Israel Prize laureate Prof. Alice Shalvi z”l ✨ A Youth & Children’s Hub — a dedicated space our next generation can call their own ✨ A Community Kitchen & “Sukkat Shalom” — for Kiddush, gatherings, and acts of chessed This is where you come in: in this important moment, and especially in these challenging days, We ask for your support to bring to life the Psalmist’s blessing:“Like the dew of Hermon that falls upon the mountains of Zion… For there the LORD commanded the blessing, life forevermore.” We have already raised half of the necessary funds. Now we have the opportunity to match the generous Yarmuth funds and bring chaim — life — to Zion by securing the maintenance and operational costs of our Mishkan for the next 18 years.
