Frisbee on the Seam In August 2024, in the midst of a painful and difficult war, the “Frisbee on the Seam” initiative was launched. The initiative was led by Hussam Mousa, a social activist from East Jerusalem, who together with additional friends and the “Kulna Jerusalem” association sought to create a framework for positive interaction between Israelis and Palestinians in the heart of the city. Since then, the group’s meetings have taken place consistently on a weekly basis — every Tuesday evening — in all weather conditions, in every security situation, and even during sirens. Over time, the group has grown into a vibrant community with dozens of participants. Beyond the enjoyable and friendly game, the meetings have included a variety of workshops, musical performances, and even a festive Iftar meal during the month of Ramadan. The community has become one of the most refreshing and inspiring phenomena in Jerusalem, receiving coverage in both local and international media, bringing a different, unifying, and hopeful voice from the Frisbee field at the foot of the Old City walls.
