From Holocaust to Rebirth: A Journey Through Jewish Memory

KAN (Kfar Adumim, Alon and Nofei Prat) Community High School was founded by the communities of Gush Adumim, united by a vision of bringing together Jewish Israeli students from all backgrounds. The school promotes academic and educational excellence while fostering the values of our diverse Jewish community. K.A.N. graduates are equipped to build bridges within the Jewish community, having developed skills to navigate the divisions that challenge us.
To prepare them to strengthen and improve Israel’s future, students explore Jewish history throughout their high school years, examining the challenges our people have faced and, above all, the resilience we’ve drawn from our shared heritage and commitment to Jewish continuity.
As part of this educational journey, we take students on a profound and transformative experience: a study trip exploring Jewish history in Poland.
This is not an ordinary school trip—it’s a life-changing, identity-forming educational experience that transforms history from textbook pages into lived reality. Our students will trace centuries of vibrant Jewish life in Poland before the Holocaust, walk where the tragedies unfolded, hear survivors’ testimonies, witness the sites, and carry forward the responsibility of remembrance.
Why is this journey critical, especially now?
With each passing day, fewer Holocaust survivors remain with us. The responsibility of preserving their testimony falls to the next generation. This journey will transform our students into what we call “Third Generation Witnesses.” They’ll return changed—more mature, more connected to their heritage, with a deeper understanding of why Jewish continuity matters. They’ll become our community’s ambassadors, continuing to share these stories so the world never forgets.
Cost shouldn’t be a barrier to memory.
Unfortunately, the significant expense of the Poland trip—including airfare, accommodations, security, and educational programming—places it beyond reach for many families in our community. We firmly believe that no student should miss this meaningful experience due to financial constraints. Remembrance is not a privilege—it’s a responsibility we all share.
This is where you come in: Our goal is to raise $8,500 for a scholarship fund through this online campaign. Join us as partners in this journey. Every contribution helps make it possible for a student to have a life-changing experience while ensuring these memories live on.
Your contribution means more than its dollar value—it’s an expression of faith in the next generation, an investment in education, and a promise that we will never forget.
Together, we’ll ensure that their journey becomes a living memory for all of us.
