The Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Assembly

By Ghetto Fighter's House Museum

This song shall pass like a password from generation to generations

On Tuesday, April 14, 2026, we will hold our Annual Holocaust Remembrance Day Closing Assembly at the museum’s open-air amphitheater - a tradition that began in 1949, on the day the Ghetto Fighters’ Kibbutz and Museum were established. Every year, over 6,000 people from across Israel and around the world attend the assembly. The event is open to the public and attracts numerous groups of youth, members of Zionist youth movements, pre-military preparatory program students, soldiers and security personnel, as well as ambassadors and diplomatic delegations. The audience reflects the full spectrum of Israeli society, without any political, sectoral, or other distinctions. A central place is dedicated to Holocaust survivors, whose voices and life stories carry the profound meaning of this day. This year’s theme, “Let the Song Be Like a Password from Generation to Generation,” from The Partisans’ Song, calls for passing the torch of hope, responsibility, and resistance to despair to the younger generation, just as was done during the Holocaust. The ceremony will include a musical performance featuring singer Yuval Raphael, alongside a military band and the kibbutz youth band.
