Delegation to Ethiopia - Agust 2026

“Emenet” (“Faith”) Delegation to Ethiopia – in Memory of Yemanu Binyamin Zelka, of Blessed Memory. The “Emenet” Delegation is a humanitarian volunteer mission operating under the auspices of the non-profit organization HelpUp. We are set to travel to Ethiopia August 2026. Our goal is to create a positive impact on the education, health, and well-being of children in underserved communities. Our delegation is made up of 48 dedicated volunteers working tirelessly to help others while promoting a culture of giving, compassion, and empowerment. This year, our journey carries a particularly deep meaning: the entire mission is dedicated to the memory of Yemanu Zelka z”l, a 21 year old Ethiopian-Israeli murdered on the eve of Israel’s Independence Day. His gentle and caring character inspire us with values of faith, connection, generosity, and light. There is also a meaningful linguistic and cultural connection in Amharic and Hebrew, rooted in the same sacred Semitic root: A-M-N. “Emenet” (Emunah in Hebrew) means faith. “Yemanu” (Ta’aminu in Hebrew) means “Believe” This common root of faith and belief binds us together around the central purpose of our mission: to share with Ethiopian schoolchildren the power of Emenet - faith in themselves, in their identity, and in their ability to grow, dream, and shape their future. Additional goals of the delegation include: Improving the quality of education and renovating school buildings in a rural village. Providing essential learning equipment and working pedagogically with local staff. Upgrading infrastructure, including improving access to clean drinking water within the educational institution. Promoting empowerment and community-building through sports, girls’/women’s empowerment activities, and programs that strengthen children’s self-confidence and sense of capability. We invite you to partner with us in the meaningful work of the “Emenet” Delegation. Our activities are funded solely through donations collected in Israel. Your partnership will enable us to purchase the building materials
