Heaven is other people

Itay Shoham, a fighter in the Commando Brigade’s Egoz Unit, fell in Gaza at only 21 years old. Itay was a true person of people — compassionate, values-driven, loving, and someone who always put others in front of himself. In one of the letters he left behind, he wrote:“Much of our happiness is found in others ,heaven is other people .” To continue Itay’s unique spirit and legacy, we are creating a memorial garden near the “Ogen” scout tribe — a place that was Itay’s home for many years — a space of connection, kindness, and living memory inspired by the values he represented.
