Beit Nir Is Preparing to Welcome More Than 40 Families from the Nir Oz Community

Donors: 4

The Beit Nir community is preparing for one of the most unprecedented and complex community initiatives undertaken in Israel—the absorption of more than 40 families from Nir Oz who are unable to return to Nir Oz following the events of October 7, and who have chosen to continue their lives together—in Kibbutz Beit Nir. This initiative is expected to increase Beit Nir’s population by approximately 25% and add around 75 children to the local education system. What makes it unique is not only its scale, but also the challenge of preparing to welcome dozens of families while preserving their community continuity and building a shared future with the Beit Nir community. Welcoming the families requires extensive preparation across the education, welfare, community, and infrastructure systems, alongside the development of tailored professional support that will help the families and the community as a whole rebuild a sense of security, belonging, and a healthy daily routine. Why Are We Fundraising? Beit Nir has chosen to take responsibility and lead this absorption process, based on the belief that national community resilience is built when communities extend a hand to one another. To ensure the best possible integration, we need to expand and adapt our community and educational services in preparation for the significant increase in needs and in the number of residents, while maintaining the quality of life of all members of the community. To this end, a multi-year plan has been developed, including investment in education, welfare, community infrastructure, professional support, and building connections between the two communities. A large part of the preparation must take place before the families move in, to ensure that the systems are ready immediately upon their arrival at their homes in Beit Nir—and even before then. This is why your support is needed now. What Will the Donations Be Used For? What Will the Donations Be Used For? Donations will help Beit Nir prepare to welcome the Nir Oz families through: • Expanding and adapting the education system in preparation for the arrival of approximately 75 children and a 42% increase in the number of children. • Strengthening the education, welfare, and community teams, and expanding the professional services required for the absorption process. • Professional guidance, resilience activities, and support for families, teams, and the community throughout the first years of the absorption process. • Developing community programs that will strengthen the sense of belonging and build connections between long-standing residents and the families joining the community. • Establishing a regional resilience center, which will include workshops, community activities, and individual treatment for residents of the region. • Adapting public buildings and community spaces to meet the needs of the growing community. A Four-Year Plan The plan was developed by professionals in the fields of education, welfare, community, and planning, and defines the steps required during the first four years of welcoming the families. The State of Israel, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael, philanthropic partners, and additional organizations have already joined the initiative, but a significant funding gap remains. As part of this public campaign, we seek to raise NIS 3 million, which will enable us to continue the preparations and implement the components that are not funded through other sources. Partners in the MissionThe Beit Nir community made the courageous decision to open its gates and invest substantial resources to enable more than 40 families from Nir Oz, who have chosen to remain together in Beit Nir, to begin a new chapter while preserving the community continuity that was disrupted by the events of October 7. We invite you to join us as partners in an extraordinary national initiative of mutual responsibility, resilience, and renewal. Your donation will enable Beit Nir to prepare in the best possible way to welcome the families, provide them with the support they need, and together build a future of security, belonging, and growth for both communities. Interested in Taking a Meaningful Part?Welcoming the families from Nir Oz to Beit Nir is a large-scale national initiative that includes a range of projects in the fields of education, welfare, resilience, infrastructure, and community. If you represent a foundation, company, or organization, or are interested in exploring a significant partnership or funding one of the projects, we would be happy to connect with you and present the full rehabilitation plan and partnership opportunities.
