Kuma: Heroes Fell. Heroines Rise.  https://kuma.sulamot.org/en/en... The Mission The Iron Swords War created one of the largest waves of IDF widows in Israel’s history. Over 350 young widows were suddenly left to carry the weight of grief, single parenthood, and full financial responsibility alone. Kuma—a national initiative by Sulamot—was created to ensure they never have to Our Approach: While government systems provide a vital baseline, they are often structurally limited and difficult to navigate during a time of profound trauma, Kuma fills the critical gaps by providing a flexible, five-year journey of support tailored to the lived reality of each family. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, we offer: • Direct Stability: Monthly financial assistance to cover essential needs like childcare, housing, cleaning help, and ready made Shabbat food. Emergency Relief Grants: Rapid-response grants for urgent needs, from medical costs to essential household repairs. • Expert Advocacy: Hands-on guidance through the Ministry of Defense bureaucracy to ensure every widow receives the rights and benefits she is entitled to. • Future-Building: Personal financial planning, including first-time mortgage guidance and budgeting, to ensure long-term independence. • Leadership Driven by Lived Experience: Kuma was founded by Rav Yosef Zvi Rimon, managed by Sulamot, and is led daily by Shlomit Peretz and Shlomit Kalmanzon. As IDF widows themselves, they bring a level of trust, sensitivity, and professional judgment that is unparalleled  They understand that when a woman feels seen and supported, she begins to rise again. Your Impact: 100% Direct Support At Sulamot, we hold ourselves to the highest standard of financial integrity. 100% of your donation goes directly to the widows. All program overhead for 2026 is fully covered by separate funding, ensuring your gift has the maximum possible impact on the families of our fallen heroes.
