Home for them - Ayelet Hashachar | Otot

Ayelet Hashachar is a shelter home for girls from Haredi homes facing crisis and risk, providing them with an immediate and comprehensive first response: a safe place to sleep, food, personal attention and recognition of what they are going through, alongside holistic support for their emotional and practical needs. During their stay, each girl's situation and needs are carefully assessed so she can be referred onward to the framework that will help her move onto a stable and healthy path. The home operates with substantial support from Israel's Ministry of Welfare and accompanies 16 girls at any given time, around 90 girls a year. At the same time, significant pieces of furniture and equipment are still missing from the house, and the interior remains unfinished. A dignified physical environment is not a minor detail but a critical part of the therapeutic process, and the furnishing and outfitting of the home need to be completed so it can run at its best day to day. As 'Rosh Hashanah׳ approaches, we are launching this campaign to give our girls a fresh start, this time in a home that is complete and fully furnished. Your donation will create a warm, welcoming and dignified space for the girls who come to us at difficult moments in their lives, giving them a homelike environment that supports the process they are going through and their way back into the community.
