Ruth's second marathon... in a wheelcahir!

Ruth is a 10-year-old girl with lots of positive energies, whose cerebral palsy and epilepsy do not prevent her from swimming and and practicing in Boccia. Ruth also really likes to run with her father Ramon, especially for long distances. Two years ago they ran the Jerusalem Marathon together, and since then due to COVID-19 the Jerusalem Marathon has been repeatedly postponed. This time they are running a marathon independently on Friday, April 9 at 6:00 (from the Great Crater to Hatzeva in the Arava). They will run and roll to raise funds for House of Wheels' unique summer camps (Ruth belongs to the southern house in Kibbutz Urim). House of Wheels serves as Ruth's second home where she spends time with other special children for one weekend a month and has been doing so since she was 8. These weekends are full of social activities and provide a lot of joy and happiness that fills Ruth with more positive energies. The highlight of the yearly activities of the House of Wheels is the summer camp. The cost of a summer camp week for one group of 15 campers with 15 volunteers from the southern house is 26,000 NIS. We hope to raise a sum for two summer camp groups for the coming summer to allow the children of the southern house a meaningful and unforgettable summer experience.
