24/7 Anonymous, Free emotional Support and Suicide Hotline for Children & Youth. Emotional support in the form of transferring text messages via mobile devices is attractive to adolescents because of the particular qualities of this medium: immediate accessibility and availability, enabling them to find solutions to their needs when it suits them. Using this medium, rather than accepted therapy methods increases adolescent's willingness to seek help, reduces dangerous behaviors and prevents suicide. This service creates a new arena, available and enabling, in which adolescents may conduct a dialogue using a familiar available and non-threatening medium. ERAN’s volunteers will answer text messages received from potential clients, via the Internet.
