Meshi

Meshi was founded twenty years ago by Mrs. Lifsha Feldman. She opened the doors to children suffering from neurological disabilities providing them with both rehabilitation and education opportunities. Today, Meshi has expanded to include a nursery and preschool, accepting babies as young as 8 months, all the way through post high school with children up to 21 years of age. We even have a one-of-its-kind Yeshiva for teenage boys. In total Meshi cares for 250 children. Currently the Israeli government only sponsors 2.5 hours of therapy per week per child. This is meant to include physiotherapy, medical treatments, speech therapy, communication therapy, hydrotherapy, music therapy and emotional therapy. Obviously, there is no way any child can receive the necessary treatment from government aid alone. At Meshi we believe each child deserves to reach his potential. No child should be restricted due to financial constraints. We therefore provide each and every child with the all-encompassing therapy program they personally require. The scope of our work effects not only our students, but their families as well. We are in constant contact with families of the students, and as our young charges advance the family system stabilizes. This is a huge undertaking and responsibility. We require an additional 5,000,000 NIS a year in donations to offer our students all that they deserve. Recognizing the unique potential in Meshi, the Ministry of Education has granted us a parcel of land upon which to build our own campus. Having all of our children in one non- rental location will dramatically reduce our yearly deficit to 3,000,000 NIS .
