Solly's Bar Mitzvah

In honor of my bar mitzvah I am excited to be raising funds to help build a lone soldier center in Modiin! Beit Almog is a lone soldier home in Modiin that helps lone soldiers from the Haredi sector who have been cut off from their families and have nowhere else to go. Beit Almog provides them with a warm home, a room to call their own, support and guidance throughout their army service and continued support after their release from the army. Beit Almog helps soldiers finish their basic education and go on to higher education, giving them all the emotional support and financial assistance they need to reintegrate into Israeli society successfully. Beit Almog was founded to continue the work of Almog Shilony, a chayal from Modiin who was murdered when a terrorist tried to take his weapon to carry out a mass attack at the Hagana train station in Tel Aviv. Almog fought the terrorist preventing a large scale attack but lost his life when he was fatally stabbed. Almog was a commanding officer in the Netzach Yehuda unit. He had many lone soldiers in his unit that had no where to go for shabbat so Almog would bring them home to his house. In 2015 his family and friends founded Beit Almog to continue Almog's acts of chessed. Beit Almog currently operates a rented home in Modiin with a few soldiers from the Haredi sector. They have plans to build a modern complex to accomodate 108 lone soldiers on 1.5 acres of land the city has aleady given them. Without Beit Almog, these lone soldiers would be on their own during their service and have no where to go after their release. Beit Almog is changing the future of lone soldiers who sacrificed everything to serve their country. I have spent time with the lone soldiers at Beit Almog. They are really special people. In honor of my bar mitzvah I am raising funds to help make this dream a reality. Please help me and make your tax dedctable donation today. Thanks, Solly
