Kehilat Zion, together with leaders from other faiths, brings together believers from Jerusalem and around the world to promote the values of shared humanity, mutual responsibility, partnership and hope. Over the past decade, we have been working together to create a network of faith, charity and friendship, and to hold joint events and activities in which dreamers of Jerusalem come together to get to know one another, pray, study, engage in charitable activities and support the needs of our fellow Jerusalemites. As we look toward our central annual event, מאמיניםות | Believers | المؤمنون, we hope that you will consider partnering with us in this endeavor and support Zion’s remarkable, unique interreligious activity: • Hands of Light – Our interfaith Chanukah candle lighting event, led by members of the interfaith Amen Circle of religious leaders, together with Jewish, Christian and Muslim musicians, to increase the light of faith in Jerusalem and the world, as well as to contribute together to Jerusalemites in need • Selichot Tour – Visiting Jerusalem families who were victims of terror and hate crimes over the past year. This annual tradition takes place on the Fast of Gedalyah, during the Days of Repentance between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, together with our partner organization Tag Meir. • Interfaith Beit Midrash – A study group that brings together members of Kehilat Zion with members of the House of St. Simeon and St. Anne Catholic Community to learn texts from sources holy to both of our faiths • The Blue Door – An initiative created to bring together members of different religious groups in shared charitable activity, in collaboration with the YMCA. A second-hand clothing store run by Muslim, Christian and Jewish volunteers whose proceeds are distributed to disadvantaged families in Jerusalem from all three religions • Back to School – A fun event for children and special Blue Door sale in honor of the beginning of the school year, bringing together families from East and West Jerusalem, in collaboration with the YMCA • Amen Circle – A circle of Muslim, Christian and Jewish faith leaders who come together to study, work to create bonds between different religious groups in Jerusalem and around the world, and be a unified voice for humanity in times of local and global crisis • Donate, Not Sell – An annual initiative of Kulna, with the participation of members of Kehilat Zion, to donate food that is not kosher for Passover to families in need in East Jerusalem, instead of “selling” it, per Jewish tradition • Believers – A gathering of believers from Jerusalem’s three principal faiths to pray together for the Holy City and all those who reside in it As a way of partnering with us in our interfaith activity and helping us to expand its scope, we request that you consider contributing via our campaign donation page, which will be active until our annual event, Believers, which will take place on May 26. We ask for your support so that we can continue to create connections between members of the three faiths, bringing the earthly Jerusalem ever closer to the heavenly Jerusalem.
