Chetz Association

Since its founding a year and half ago the Chetz Association has devoted itself towards supporting its soldiers, both in the army and at home. Through our Big-Brother program, we have paired all of our 200+ soldiers with a mentor who recently graduated from the unit. Our volunteers have spent countless hours visiting the soldiers on base, running educational and team building activities. In many cases, our volunteers are among the first people a soldier speaks to in times of crisis or success. We also operate a “lone soldier” apartment in the heart of Jerusalem that provides a home for 6 current soldiers. Our Madrich and Av Bayit ensure that it is always stocked with food and that our Soldiers have a family to go to for a warm Shabbat meal. Many of the soldiers come to the unit in search of community and need increased support both before and after the army. With your support we plan on creating a pre-army program to help acclimate recruits to the rigors of army life. We also plan to inaugurate “Chetz Le’Atid,” our initiative to give alumni the skills necessary to integrate into the Israeli workforce. To continue providing and expanding our services we are dependent on donors who understand the importance of the State of Israel and its security, and the specific struggle of Charedi Soldiers.
