E.S.R.A. ENGLISH SPEAKING RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION

ESRA, the Home of English Speakers in Israel, has been strengthening Israeli society and supporting the successful integration of English-speaking immigrants for the past 47 years. ESRA serves as a welcoming community and support network, helping immigrants of all ages and at every stage of their integration through emotional and financial assistance, access to information, mentoring, community and cultural activities, skills development, and meaningful volunteer opportunities.

Alongside its immigrant support services, ESRA operates a wide range of educational, welfare, and community programs in partnership with government ministries, local authorities, and other organizations. These initiatives serve children, youth, students, families, and special needs populations throughout Israel's geographic and social periphery. The programs focus on English language education, STEM enrichment, social and emotional development, strengthening personal and community resilience, and reducing social gaps. Today, in addition to English-speaking immigrants, ESRA also supports immigrants from Ukraine, the former Soviet Union, and Ethiopia.

A unique aspect of ESRA is its commitment to empowering immigrants not only as beneficiaries, but also as active contributors to Israeli society. Thousands of volunteers, many of them English-speaking immigrants, generously contribute their time, skills, and experience, strengthening both their own integration and the communities they serve.

ESRA's continued growth is built on sound governance, operational efficiency, and responsible stewardship of resources. Less than 12 percent of the organization's budget is allocated to administrative and general expenses, allowing the vast majority of its resources to directly support programs and beneficiaries. The organization relies on a dedicated team of professionals alongside an extensive volunteer network whose contribution extends far beyond the value reflected in financial reports.

ESRA has been awarded the Midot Effectiveness Seal, recognizing excellence in nonprofit management, leadership, and measurable social impact. The organization has also received the President's Award for Volunteerism in recognition of its longstanding contribution to Israeli society, immigrant integration, community building, and the reduction of social disparities.
