In Israel, there are 1.7 million people with disabilities, including approximately 338,300 children and adolescents. Their families face challenges in all areas of life that can easily escalate into ongoing crises, spanning therapeutic and caring overload, emotional strain, social isolation, marital stress, economic and occupational difficulties. • 75% of parents report that their occupational situation has been impaired due to the need to care for their special child. • 95% report the need for financial assistance due to heavy caring expenses. • 90% report feeling lonely and anxious. • 85% report difficulty among siblings of special children. "Kesher – The Home for Special Families" has been dedicated for 30 years to promoting the rights, and welfare of families with children and adults with special needs. We believe that empowered and involved parents and families are the source of strength and hope for their children, playing a decisive role in their development. Kesher provides comprehensive solutions for families of children and adults with all types of disabilities, spanning all population groups: Jews, Arabs, religious, ultra-Orthodox, and secular. Our programs are specifically tailored to the unique needs of family caregivers, drawing on extensive experience and expertise in the field. Kesher operates a variety of programs and services, including an assistance center, counseling and rights advocacy, support groups, workshops, lectures, parental guidance, special parent leadership, and more.
