Ore LaChinuch has been operating since 2008 to promote a sense of belonging, self-efficacy, and social engagement among children and youth in Israel’s social periphery, through a unique group mentoring model. High school students (grades 10–12) mentor 6th-grade students during the critical transition to middle school, focusing on their strengths, personal expression, and fostering a positive sense of identity and success
The program runs in 17 branches located in high schools in Be’er Sheva, Ashdod, Arad, Afula, Kiryat Malakhi, Dimona, and Bnei Ayish, and is led by 34 scholarship students who develop leadership and educational skills.
Each year, over 600 mentors and mentees participate in the program.
