Not Waiting for Normalcy: Meeting Students Wherever They Are

While the amphitheater at Kibbutz Lohamei HaGeta’ot remained silent this year, our educational teams have not paused for a moment. For us, this is a true “moment of truth” in which we are called to fully uphold the founders’ mandate: to turn memory into action, even as conditions on the ground change. Although the war has ended, daily life in the north remains tense. Schools have reopened, but concerns about traveling to the region leave group visits uncertain. That is why we are not waiting for students to come to us — the “House” continues to reach them. In the past week alone, we have met 7,500 students through online sessions and on-the-ground activities, and we are continuing at full momentum with the goal of reaching thousands more in the coming days. Amid the uncertainty of this recovery period, we provide them with what Holocaust survivors gave us: an anchor of resilience, identity, and meaning. We are not waiting for normalcy to fully return - we are actively creating it, driven by a deep commitment to our mission. Demand for our online and mobile programs continues to grow, and we are making every effort to reach every group that is still unable to travel to the Galilee.
