This terrible period since October 7 has shown us how it feels to live with fear, uncertainty, and a lack of safety. The child within each of us was suddenly left feeling hopeless for the future like there was no safe place to turn. Sadly, this is how the children of the Jerusalem Hills Children’s Home feel every day as a result of their traumatic, unstable upbringing. These children suffer from severe anxiety, stress, and hopelessness at the best of times, let alone during the difficult period we find ourselves in now, with a third of the children in our care coming from the South and experiencing the unimaginable. For their duration at our Children’s Home, each child has a dedicated team of staff and volunteers providing them with the individual care they need and the love they deserve. We impart in them the tools to have hope, once again, for a brighter future and to trust themselves, the people, and the world around them.
