Our Campaign in 2024-Nigun Halev- Opening our hearts! Dear Community, Friends and Partners, As we turn our attention to our work and to ask for your support, we feel so many things.  As we looked back at 2023 we felt that the year was dramatically divided-until Simchat Torah and the 7th of October and after. We barely remembered all the good things that had happened before.   We are so different- sadder, heavier, heart broken. But also stronger together, more resilient. As a community, we have grown and deepened connections. More members are joining and more members are returning. Our Kabbalat Shabbat service has grown by nearly 30% and we have added dozens of new activities.  As a community we threw ourselves into volunteering and devoting our energies to the homefront effort. Over 40 families in Nigun Halev have children in the military (both in mandatory service and reserves). We have connected with 4 communities of evacuees, offering Shabbat services, lectures and tours to ease their hardships and time away from home. We have volunteers designing makeshift schools and pre-schools, volunteers working in agriculture and delivering food to troops. We supported workers from Thailand that survived the horrific attack. We led prayers for the hostages in Nigun Halev and in Hostages square. We have volunteers packing food and as a community we came together- Jews and Arabs, to pack care packages for Jewish and Arab evacuees in Nazareth.  Our efforts to maintain a shared society have doubled, as we launched in December 2023 a new initiative -“Titchadshi” monthly meeting for the women of Nigun Halev and women from our neighboring Bedouin town, Mansheit Zabda. We are already planning a joint Ramadan gathering. And all this we have done in addition to our traditional programming. We know that you- our friends and family overseas are worrying and caring about us. We care about you! Please be in touch, invite us to speak at your communities and if you can, come and visit. It means so much! Looking to 2024 we ask you to open our hearts together:  Support Nigun Halev- together we will impact and strengthen a spiritual and community center in the Galilee. Nigun Halev is a unique Israeli community, fusing together the depths of Jewish tradition with the vitality of contemporary Israeli culture, through ritual, culture, activism and more. Nigun Halev is a community, a home for members and a community center, leading cultural events and social dialogue. Supporting Nigun Halev- supporting change and impact in Israeli society. Nigun Halev is a center for Jewish life, ritual, social action, connection to the Jewish people and culture. What will your donations support? We will build bridges between Jews and Arabs in the region and create opportunities to meet and gather, support families in happy and sad moments, educate children to feel at home in an egalitarian Israeli Judaism, champion Israel as a Democratic and Jewish state, organize and produce wonderful cultural events for the public, support the local LGBTQ community, create a musical and educational home for youth in the region, volunteer with refugee children, lead life-long learning projects and be a long term, lifelong Jewish Israeli home for all who wish to have one. Since Oct. 7th we have organized as a community- volunteering, supporting communities that are evacuated from the North and the South, working even harder to promote shared society in the Galilee, giving support and resilience to many.  Nigun Halev would not exist without the support and partnership of the public, who year after year affirm their belief that we can indeed make a deep and lasting impact on Israeli society, strengthening our core values, that a diverse and egalitarian Judaism, fighting for a better Israeli society should be available to all. Your donation and support will be turned into year round action.
