Running for Sunrise Children

Established in 2010, Sunrise Israel is the only day-camp in Israel specifically catering to all Israeli children with cancer and their healthy siblings – where pain, fear and loneliness are replaced by the laughter, happiness and hope that every child deserves. With three summer day-camps across Israel, bringing childhood joys to young Israeli cancer patients of all denominations, and their healthy siblings; and year-round volunteer programs in three pediatric oncology wards, Sunrise Israel reaches over 1,200 children annually, bringing them respite and joy. Forming a stable anchor within families who are in the midst of this very worrying time, Sunrise helps these children set aside their traumas and fears, and build and strengthen their resilience, a vital element in their fight against cancer. After being postponed due to the war, we are very excited to launch our ‘Running for Sunrise Children’ campaign with the upcoming Tel Aviv Night Run. For the 14th year running, corporate companies and private runners will be Running for Sunrise Children helping us raise the funds we need to offer our life-affirming programs and to include all the children who need. We are inviting you to please help support our campaign by sponsoring one of the many runners and helping us to reach our target. For our Sunrise Israel children living for over five months under the shadow of war, their traumas and fears have been compounded while they deal with the double blow of fighting cancer, while living in a war zone. Our programs are a beacon of hope for these children and their siblings; a place where they can find relief from their traumas, rediscover the joys of childhood, and gain the strength and resilience they need for their fight against cancer.
