Breaking Free

The seventh of October created a renewed fracture in all of us. A fracture that seems impossible to stand up from. At the Crisis Center we collect the fragments, piece by piece, in a process that is already so familiar to us. The challenging events that took place and the ongoing war have brought us to face an unprecedented situation, in which women and entire communities are in shock and have undergone dramatic changes to their routine. Suddenly, the trauma came to life—the pains, the thoughts, the fears.  Due to the complexity of these days, when feelings of confusion, uncertainty, and loneliness are intensified - we immediately opened the Safe Social Spaces Program following the outbreak of the "Iron Swords" war. Additionally, we increased the provision of assistance for times of emergency, and we are continuously working with evacuees of all ages  from the north and south of the country. In times like these, when there is disorder and lack of private spaces, the challenge of feeling safe is more complex. Experience shows that when routines are disrupted there is an increased risk of sexual violence. Thus, we have a responsibility to expand our therapeutic approaches, both for groups and for individuals.  We need you for now and for the long run, in order for us to give support and assistance to everyone who needs it. The Crisis Center handles approximately 8,000 inquiries each year. In 2023, and thanks to the outbreak of war, we received over 10,000 inquiries. The center operates 24/7 for victims and their relatives and to prevent future injury. Over 80 female volunteers work at the Crisis Center–help us continue to be the place you know, a safe place to talk and to learn tools to overcome the trauma.  Your contribution supports each and every victim.
