This September, a delegation of 43 volunteers, with big smiles and big hearts will take off for Tanzania with a big mission in mind. This mission is built from a lot of little efforts, that strung together will make an important difference in lives of many people. The delegation will visit the Matemboni Primary School in the village of Old Moshi in the Moshi region in Tanzania. The school has about 250 pupils, aged 4-17 years of age. This village is very poor, lots of unemployment, high percentages of teenage pregnancy, child labor and a very high percentage of school drop outs. Part of the delegation's mission is to help make the school a more ideal place for the students to study. Right now it is far from being so. The delegation intends to renovate the classes and the buildings, connect the school to a proper water system, lay a pathway to the school, build reservoirs for rain water, create study spaces to enrich the student experience and other important things that the school lacks today. Part of the delegation will teach educational programs which will enrich the pupil's life skills. In addition, the local teachers and the educational staff will have a chance to enrich themselves by widening their educational basses that will endure after the delegation leaves for home. The delegation will volunteer also in a community center that was established by a "Help-Up" fellowship. There too the volunteers will work and help families that suffer from poverty. For this delegation "The sky is (not) the limit"! About us: HELPUP is a non- profit association that has been sending to Africa more than 80 volunteer delegations for the last 8 years. Volunteers come from all over Israel with one aim: to get to Africa to places where we can make a change in peoples' lives and hope for a better future. We finance our own cost: from airfare, to food and accommodation. This is why your support is so important. With the money we shall recruit we can buy more materials to help build a better school, more creative materials for the students, shoes and sweaters, mattresses for families who cannot afford it, even wheelchairs and beds for women in labor if needed. Every donation we can get, even the smallest, could make a big difference for our voluntary work in Africa, in the school, or community center or even in the people's homes.
