AMANI Delegation ‎

This coming December, a group of people armed with kind eyes, wide smiles, and huge hearts will fly to Uganda to undertake tasks of high social value and pure love. This wonderful group, embodying the values of endless giving and sensitivity to their surroundings, will devote their time both in Israel and abroad. They will represent Israel and the HelpUp organization, working to connect and strengthen the bond between Uganda and Israel through meaningful actions. We will arrive at a village in the Jinga District, at The Great Calvin Nursery and Primary School, which has about 400 students. The school is in dire need of thorough renovations to be fit for its purpose. This is where you come in:With your support for this project, we can embark on a journey of goodwill, enriching the children's lives, providing tools to the educational staff and community to improve the learning environment for the students and the school community. Project Content and Activities during the Delegation: The delegation will focus on the five cornerstones that lead the organization: Water, Nutrition, Medicine, Education, and Infrastructure Improvement. Delegation members will conduct engaging lessons both inside and outside the classrooms on various topics such as science, geography, sports, music, nutrition, and English enrichment classes. We will establish a learning library and a playground, create a vegetable garden, and conduct scientific experiments to study global natural phenomena. We will renovate the classrooms and the students' dormitory at the school. We will build a kitchen and improve the existing toilet facilities and ensure the construction of a rainwater harvesting system and its collection into a storage tank to be used by the school students. We come to give and receive back great love, a warm hug, and a lot of rhythm and joy of life. We will pack all this goodness in our suitcase on our way back to Israel as a united group ready for continued volunteer work in Israel. A little about us and the HelpUp organization: HelpUp is a humanitarian Israeli non-profit organization that operates in Israel and Africa. We believe in volunteering as a tool for social change and personal empowerment. We aim to improve social discourse and shape a society whose citizens are committed to community responsibility and mutual guarantee. The fields of operation are derived from the list of topics that the UN set as goals to be achieved in developing countries: Water, Nutrition, Medicine, Education, and Infrastructure Improvement. HelpUp operates in Israel and Africa. In Israel: Every one of our aid delegations to Africa volunteers in Israel before their departure. We maintain a database of volunteering places and connect our volunteer network to them. Volunteering activities include: Volunteering with individuals facing mental health challenges, at-risk children and youth, children with special needs, and lone soldiers; renovating centers for the homeless and women at risk; rehabilitating and establishing gardens for Holocaust survivors and individuals facing mental health challenges; packing food for needy families; alleviating loneliness in nursing homes; distributing food in soup kitchens; providing recreational activities for children in conflict zones, and more. In Africa: We have sent 86 delegations to Uganda, Ghana, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. The delegations volunteer in schools and the surrounding community for two weeks. Over the years, we have established an infrastructure that includes local field staff, and we work in full cooperation with government institutions and local NGOs. The volunteers in the delegations fund their own stay, and your donations enable the continued existence of our volunteering operations in Israel and Africa, thereby increasing our collective impact towards a better society. AMANI Delegation - Peacefulness Our delegation consists of a group of 44 volunteers of various ages, representing the diversity of Israeli society, and sees importance in these days to strengthen unity through doing good in Israel and Africa - giving that becomes a way of life in Israel and the world. The participants cover all the expenses of the delegation themselves (flight, accommodation, food, water, travel) and call on you to be partners through your generous donation. The delegation is committed to ensuring that the money received from your support will be dedicated to the delegation's missions. Equipment will be collected for the children and for future work at the school. We believe in the values of giving and kindness to every person, as values that lead our actions and should be increased in the world.
