Supporting Olim Students at Mae Boyar High School
Donors: 6
When he was 14, Yaron Lischinsky made a transition that would change his life forever. Having grown up in Germany, he and his family made aliyah and returned to Israel. Yaron's deep Christian faith and heartfelt connection to the Jewish people and the Holy Land inspired him to study here, to serve in the IDF, to build a life in this country, and to dedicate his life to Israel through his passion for diplomacy and for bringing people together. Tragically, he and his partner, Sarah Milgrim, both Israeli Embassy employees, were murdered in Washington DC, on May 21, 2025, by an anti-Israeli terrorist.
Yaron z"l was a graduate of the prestigious Mae Boyar High School (MBHS) in Jerusalem, Class of 2013. He had joined the school as a handsome, quiet yet opinionated 11th grader, and quickly became one of the most popular as well as excelling students, with his talents at sports also landing him the position of Captain of the school's soccer team. Yaron's brother, Hanan, is also a Boyar alum.
Established and run by the Society for Advancement of Education, Jerusalem, Boyar is an exceptional institution in Israel, inspiring creativity and innovation in its students, and equipping them with tools to tackle the challenges of tomorrow. For over six decades, the school has welcomed students from across Israel—a diverse human mosaic—dedicated to realizing their potential and becoming leaders in society. It instills in its students the values of justice, diverse perspectives, and social involvement, emphasizing love and respect for others, love of the land, and acceptance of differences. Alongside these values, Boyar nurtures academic excellence, a passion for knowledge, and broad intellectual horizons. Its diverse curriculum integrates science, humanities, and arts at a high level. In other words, the school seeks to foster young, creative leaders of outstanding academic and ethical excellence, just like Yaron z"l.
To honor Yaron's life's work and his legacy, the Boyar community and Yaron’s family seek to establish a scholarship program in his memory, for young Olim students at MBHS. We envision a fund that would award a total of up to $40,000 annually in scholarships to young Olim students in need, allowing them to enjoy the unique educational opportunities offered by the school.
We would very much appreciate your support and partnership in this endeavor.
