💍 From the Battlefield to the Chuppah – Let’s Help Itzik & Nechama Get Married We are a group of soldiers from the IDF’s elite Egoz unit. Together, we’ve been through a brutal year since the horrific events of October 7th. On October 2nd, we lost our teammate Noam Barzilai z”l. Five of us were injured — one of them was Itzik Perat, a lone soldier who made aliyah from the U.S. Itzik and his fiancée Nechama, also a lone soldier who made aliyah alone, were set to be married in November — just a month after the attack. But everything changed. Itzik was critically wounded. He was unconscious, on a ventilator, and fighting for his life. The wedding was postponed indefinitely. Nechama stayed by his side every single moment, dedicating herself to his recovery. Now, after months of painful rehab, Itzik is beginning to walk again. He’s still in recovery, but his spirit — and their love — are stronger than ever. They are alone in Israel. No family support. No financial backup. Just each other.
