48ers

The 48ers is a basketball program of the Israel Sport and Education Initiative, which aims to develop and support youth from Israel’s Ethiopian community and other disadvantaged groups, through the creation of sport-educational framework. The program uses the power of basketball as the hook to engage participants in basketball activities on the court, as well as in leadership-development and educational activities off the court. We focus on instilling values such as tolerance, self-respect and mutual responsibility - while emphasizing the need for the eradication of violence and racism. Our mission targets bridging gaps between communities, youth advancement, social integration and securing tolerance in Israel’s multicultural society.
