Zohar Chai

Zohar Chai is a pioneering Bet Midrash that breathes new life into the Zohar and Jewish Torat haSod, seamlessly weaving ancient mysticism into the heart, modern life, and contemporary artistic expression. Founded in Jerusalem in 2014 by Hadassah Froman, Dr. Shifra Asulin, Dr. Avishar Har-Shefi, and Dr. Sivan Har-Shefi, Zohar Chai was born from a powerful conviction: that the secrets of the Torah must not remain confined to the pages of a book. Instead, this sacred wisdom must touch the body, soul, and everyday life, serving as a vibrant bridge for human connection. At Zohar Chai, learners from all walks of Israeli society come together—men and women, religious and secular, learning and creating side by side. Kabbalah scholars and intellectuals encounter poets, musicians, and visual artists. Our programs range from profound textual study focused on personal transformation and inner growth, to innovative tracks that blend this sacred wisdom with writing, movement, music, and art. Through this rich spectrum, new ways of reading the Zohar are born, revealing its deep relevance to our modern lives. Since its inception, Zohar Chai has evolved into a widespread community, with multiple learning groups in Jerusalem and additional circles spanning the North, South, and Center of Israel—with new groups launching every year. The Bet Midrash offers annual programs, online courses, seminars, and immersive retreats, featuring specialized tracks for women, young adults, and artists—welcoming both absolute beginners and advanced scholars while providing professional training. Through your donations, we can provide scholarships and tuition assistance, launch new learning groups, engage in deep research and writing, mentor and guide emerging educators, and host inspiring events for the general public. Your partnership allows Zohar Chai to continue growing a living, breathing Jewish culture—one that honors its deepest traditional roots while opening a shared space for learning, healing, and profound human encounter. https://www.zoharchai.com/
