Serving those who served
Ends: 16:00
Donors: 86
At age 18, the members of Team Shimberg-Levin were drafted into the IDF and volunteered for impactful service in the 'EGOZ' special anti-guerilla unit. Throughout their service, the team participated in dozens of operations on all of Israel's borders in order to ensure its safety. This included Operation Guardian of the Walls in the summer of 2014, where the team fought in the Battle of Shejaiya in Gaza City, in which one of its members was seriously injured from an improvised explosive device.
Years after completing their service, many of the team's members are still coping with their experiences in battle, which sometimes affect their quality of life and ability to fit in to family, work and social circles.
Two nonprofits, Hasayeret Hatzfonit ("The Northern Reconnaissance Unit") – the home for released EGOZ veterans – and Bishvil Hamachar ("For Tommorow"), banded together to facilitate this journey.
Bishvil Hamachar, active since 2009, helps former combat soldiers cope with the affects the battle experiences have on their lives by facilitating group trips in nature led by experienced mental-health professionals. The trip is expensive, and you donation will enable Team Shimberg-Levin to set out on a journey that its members have been waiting for for many years.
